Watering Restrictions: Learn more about the City of Elk River's ordinance here.
Elk River Municipal Utilities is fortunate to have access to pure, high quality water, which is not the case for many cities. Water that requires less treatment allows us to keep rates lower. Our rates reflect the cost to maintain infrastructure, and our three-tier system encourages customers to conserve our most precious natural resource.
ERMU wells are supplied from the Mount Simon-Hinckley Aquifer. The system includes eight wells, four water towers, nearly 120 miles of water main, more than 1,200 fire hydrants, and just under 3,000 valves.
We are committed to conserve and protect our excellent water source so we can continue to provide high quality water at competitive rates.
